Feel free to use this Grade 7 Physics Reference Sheet. 1. Mohammed, who has a mass of 70 kg, has decided that he would like to lose some weight. a. How much does Mohammed weigh now? b. How much would Mohammed weigh on the moon? (The acceleration due to gravity is 1.62m/s^2) c. If Mohammed wants to lose weight by going to another planet and he wants to weigh 350 Newtons, what must the acceleration due to gravity on that planet be?

a. Mohammed weighs 70 kg.

b. Weight on the moon = mass x acceleration due to gravity on the moon
Weight on the moon = 70 kg x 1.62 m/s^2 = 113.4 N

c. Weight on another planet = mass x acceleration due to gravity on that planet
350 N = 70 kg x acceleration due to gravity on that planet
Acceleration due to gravity on that planet = 350 N / 70 kg = 5 m/s^2

Therefore, Mohammed would weigh 113.4 N on the moon and he would need to go to a planet with an acceleration due to gravity of 5 m/s^2 to weigh 350 N.
