For the 8.01 Professional Ethics Dissusion, you will choose one of the positive work ethics behaviors in the lesson and explain why you think that behavior might be the most important of the 12.

Structure your post as if you are a business owner seeking that characteristic in an employee and explain:

why you believe it is more important than the other 11;
give an example of a possible issue that could arise at work if an employee does not demonstrate that behavior; and
post a question or questions that you could ask a potential employee in an interview to determine whether they will demonstrate that behavior on the job.
Post your response in the discussion area, then read your classmates’ responses. .Resond to at least one classmate as to why you feel the behavior you picked would be more important than the one they picked.

It is VERY important that you participate in the discussion, as it will be used again for a future assignment.

In my opinion, one of the most important positive work ethics behaviors in the lesson is "dependability". As a business owner, I believe that dependability is crucial for the success of the company and the smooth functioning of operations.

I believe it is more important than the other 11 behaviors because without dependability, a team cannot rely on each other to get tasks done in a timely and efficient manner. If an employee is not dependable, it can lead to missed deadlines, incomplete projects, and ultimately hinder the productivity and success of the business.

For example, if an employee is assigned an important task with a deadline, but they are not dependable and fail to complete it on time, it can delay the entire project and potentially impact client relationships and the company's reputation.

In an interview, I would ask potential employees questions such as:
- Can you give an example of a time when you had to meet a tight deadline and how did you ensure that you were able to complete the task on time?
- How do you prioritize your workload when faced with multiple tasks and deadlines?
- How do you handle unforeseen obstacles or challenges that may arise when working on a project?

By asking these questions, I can assess the candidate's reliability, work ethic, and ability to handle responsibilities effectively. Ultimately, I believe that dependability is a fundamental trait that sets the foundation for a successful and productive work environment.
