The Potsdam Conference was a meeting of the Allied leaders of World War II held in Potsdam, Germany from July 17 to August 2, 1945. The main objectives of the conference were to discuss the post-war reorganization of Europe and the administration of Germany, as well as to address the issue of post-war reconstruction and the establishment of peace treaties with European countries. The conference was attended by the leaders of the United States, the Soviet Union, and the United Kingdom – President Harry S. Truman, Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin, and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill (who was later replaced by Clement Attlee).
