Step 1: Think about a STORY you want to write. It can be completely made up, or a personal narrative (something that actually happened to you).

Examples: an embarrassing story, the first time you rode a roller coaster, when you made the game winning catch, the day you got a puppy, etc.
It can be ANY STORY you want to tell. It can be a happy, sad, exciting, any kind of story! Once you decide what your story is going to be about, write an introduction for your story using the Concept Web on page 3 of 9. Remember that your introduction should do the following:
get the reader's interest (hook)
give the reader a setting/context
introduce the narrator (point of view)
introduce a main character
Step 2: Then, use the story idea you had for your introduction to outline events for the plot. Use the Flowchart on page 6 of 9. Be sure to use dialogue (quotation marks of people speaking) in your story.

Step 3: Once you have your outline, start writing your story! Remember to include descriptive details to bring your story to life for the reader. You can also add in thoughts and feelings of the characters to make them more relatable.

Step 4: After you have finished writing your story, go back and revise and edit. Check for spelling and grammar errors, make sure your story flows well, and see if there are any parts you can improve or add more detail to.
Step 5: Once you are happy with your story, share it with someone else and ask for feedback. It can be a friend, family member, teacher, or anyone else who is willing to read it and give you their thoughts.
Step 6: Make any final revisions based on the feedback you received, and then your story is ready to share with others! You can read it aloud, post it online, or even submit it to a writing contest or publication. Enjoy sharing your story with others and seeing their reactions to your writing!
