Re-read "Dear Jordan" poem from The Crossover. Write a letter making a request of someone you have a relationship with using the same verse style as “Dear Jordan.” Your letter should do all of the following: Identify your relationship with the person you are writing to. Identify what you are asking of this person. Identify the emotion you feel toward the person you are writing to. Include at least 12–15 lines.

Dear Mom,

I know we've had our ups and downs,
But I need you to hear me out.
You've always been my rock, my guide,
And now I need you by my side.

I'm asking for your support,
As I chase my dreams and work towards
Something that means everything to me,
I hope you'll see how much it means to see.

Your love and approval mean the world,
And without them, I feel lost and curled
In a ball of doubt and fear,
I need you to be near.

I know you have your doubts and fears,
But please trust me and dry your tears.
I promise I'll give it my all,
And with your support, I know I won't fall.

I love you more than words can say,
And I hope you'll help me pave the way
To reach my dreams and make them real,
With your love and support as my shield.

Your daughter,
