Based on the Flow Map and what we learned in class, I believe the most impactful innovation at this time was the Eerie Canal. One reason is that it connected the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean, allowing for easier transportation of goods. Additionally, the canal helped lower shipping costs and increased settlement in the Midwest. This made it easier for people and goods to travel long distances.
