From my perspective, the keys to having a satisfying and meaningful life are having a sense of purpose, maintaining healthy relationships, and taking care of my mental and physical well-being. These keys have definitely changed over time as I have grown and had different experiences.

When I was younger, my focus was primarily on achieving external measures of success such as getting good grades or getting into a prestigious university. However, as I have gotten older, I have realized that true satisfaction comes from doing work that I am passionate about and that makes a difference in the world. This sense of purpose has become a key factor in shaping my outlook on life and has given me a greater sense of fulfillment.

In terms of relationships, I used to prioritize quantity over quality. I would try to be friends with as many people as possible, often neglecting the fact that some relationships brought me more joy and fulfillment than others. As I have grown older, I have come to value deeper connections and have invested more time and energy in cultivating meaningful relationships with those who truly support and understand me.

Taking care of my mental and physical well-being has also become a top priority for me. I used to neglect self-care and would push myself to the limits, thinking that productivity was the ultimate goal. However, as I have learned more about the importance of self-care and mental health, I have realized that taking the time to rest and recharge is crucial for leading a satisfying life.

On campus, there are various resources available for students suffering from mental health issues. Our university offers counseling services where students can receive support and talk to a professional about their concerns. Additionally, there are support groups and workshops focused on mental health that are offered regularly.

According to the course presentation, some of the risk factors or characteristics associated with suicide include a history of mental health issues, substance abuse, isolation or lack of social support, previous suicide attempts, and access to lethal means. It is important to recognize these risk factors and provide appropriate support and intervention for individuals who may be at risk.
