What was the end result of the Mexican-American War?

The end result of the Mexican-American War was the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo on February 2, 1848. Under this treaty, Mexico ceded a significant portion of its territory, including present-day California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Colorado, to the United States. In return, the U.S. agreed to pay Mexico $15 million and assume $3.25 million in debts owed by the Mexican government to American citizens. This marked the formal end of the war and established the current border between the two countries.
