An electron microscope has no size advantage, it is usually much larger than any other microscopes. Most recent microscopes give a 3D view of the specimen and electron scopes can create complex 3D images that can sometimes be viewed 360o. Generally, the only scope that is used on live specimens is a dissection scope because of its lower magnification and lack of needing any slides or slide covers, in an electron scope the specimen must be dead or origionally inanimate. The only advantage a electron scope has over the others is its higher magnification (B). As far as I know it is the highest magnification scope manufactured in modern times.
