Read the following informational paragraph.

Trying new things is something that is difficult for many people. One of the most challenging and rewarding experiences that someone can undertake is the learning of a new language. Not only does it help to alter one's perception of the world around them, but it also helps second language learners gain insight into the cultures that created those languages. Many people who speak English as a first language find Eastern languages like Mandarin or Japanese the most difficult to master because the conjugation of words is completely different. People who learn Arabic often find that they have many job opportunities overseas open up to them because many domestic petrochemical companies also have offices in the Middle East. In many European countries, the learning of two or more languages is necessary as part of a standard education, so most of them consider an education to be incomplete without it. Spanish and Portuguese are great languages for English speakers to learn because they make travel to Latin American countries a great deal less stressful because it eradicates the language barrier. American Sign Language is a great second language to learn because it does not require the native English speaker to learn a new verbal or prepositional structure in order to master it. No matter what language you choose to study, learning to speak and write in a new language improves your understanding of your native tongue, so it can even boost your scores in English.
