For my collage representing the literary elements of "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, I chose images and quotes that capture the themes of racism, innocence, and morality. In the center of the collage, I included a silhouette of a mockingbird to symbolize the innocence of characters like Tom Robinson and Boo Radley, who are unfairly judged and persecuted by society. Surrounding the mockingbird are images of the Finch family, representing the moral compass of the novel, particularly Atticus Finch, who stands up for what is right despite facing backlash from the community.
In the top right corner of the collage, I included a quote from the novel, "Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing." This quote reflects the importance of education and understanding in the novel, as Scout learns valuable lessons about empathy and human nature through reading and experiences. Additionally, I included a newspaper headline from the trial of Tom Robinson, showcasing the pervasive racism and injustice in Maycomb.
