A student used the laser pointer to shine a beam of light at a mirror. Use the picture below to help predict how the beam of light bounced off of the mirror.

Based on the picture, we can predict that the beam of light would bounce off the mirror at a similar angle to the angle at which it initially hit the mirror. This is known as the law of reflection, which states that the angle of incidence (the angle at which the beam of light hits the mirror) is equal to the angle of reflection (the angle at which the beam of light bounces off the mirror). So, if the beam of light hits the mirror at a 30-degree angle, it will bounce off the mirror at a 30-degree angle in the opposite direction.
