Present tense it's rules description, application and examples

Present tense in English is used to describe actions that are currently happening or are generally true. It is formed by using the base form of the verb.

Rules:

1. For regular verbs, simply add -s or -es to the base form of the verb for third person singular pronouns (he, she, it).
2. For verbs ending in -y after a consonant, change the -y to -ies in the third person singular form.
3. For verbs ending in a consonant-vowel-consonant sequence, double the final consonant before adding -ing or -ed.
4. Some irregular verbs have unique forms in the present tense that do not follow regular conjugation patterns.
