What 2d shape do you get from a cross section of a triangular prism perpendicular to it’s base? Explain

When you take a cross-section of a triangular prism perpendicular to its base, you get a triangle as the 2D shape. This is because the cross-section intersects the triangular prism in such a way that it exposes one of the triangular faces of the prism. The resulting shape is a triangle with the same base and height as the original triangular face of the prism.
