In terms of the molecular kinetic theory, water that vanishes out of an open container

can be explained by the process of evaporation. According to the molecular kinetic theory, the water molecules in the container are in constant motion. Some of these molecules have enough energy to overcome the forces of attraction between them and escape into the air as vapor. This process is known as evaporation. If the container is left open, the water molecules will continue to evaporate until the concentration of water vapor in the air reaches equilibrium with the liquid water in the container. This is why the water seems to "vanish" over time.
