10. Pacer

Students need to communicate with the lecturer on the progression of their project during the
assessment points, highlight constraints and problems (externally and within their group),
participate in class discussions, and submit evidence of their project progression.
WIL will be conducted usually in the second semester so as to create a more focused experience
for students and thus increase the intensity and impact of the learning. However, it is important
that students receive this guide in the previous semester when students are required to search
for an appropriate organisation where they can carry out their WIL in the case of work placement
or engagement. Simulations for first and second year WILs will also be distributed to students in
the previous semester.
Assessment points are indicated on the Pacer which describes the various milestones. Each
milestone represents an assessment point.

While there are general principles for the assessment of WIL modules, each WIL
module will have its own marking criteria and weightings.
While there are general principles for the assessment of WIL modules, each WIL
module will have its own marking criteria and weightings.

Students are required to follow the milestones outlined in the Pacer in order to successfully complete their WIL project. This includes tasks such as team member allocation, identification of organization and project, project plan criteria, requirements analysis criteria, system design, and presentation. Each milestone represents an assessment point, and students must submit evidence of their project progression at each point.

It is important for students to communicate with their lecturer throughout the WIL process, highlighting any constraints or problems they may encounter. Students are also encouraged to participate in class discussions and seek guidance when needed.

Assessment points will be marked by the lecturer, with each WIL module having its own marking criteria and weightings. It is vital for students to understand and adhere to these criteria in order to successfully complete their WIL project and achieve a passing grade.
