I chose The Memphis Pyramid, also known as "The Pyramid." This is a modern pyramid located on the muddy banks of the Mississippi River in southwest Tennessee. It measures 322 feet on each side of its square base. I think the architect designed it to be a unique postmodern building. Let’s first understand the structure: The Memphis pyramid is a four-sided structure with a square base and four triangular faces that meet at a single point at the top; A triangular prism is a three-dimensional shape with two parallel triangular bases and three rectangular faces connecting the corresponding sides of the triangles. The Memphis square pyramid could be changed into a triangular prism. A square is a rectangle, for this reason, we can use the original base of the pyramid as one of our bases for the triangular prism. If a triangular prism has two identical parallel bases connected by flat sides, while a pyramid square has a single square base and triangular sides that meet at a point called the apex, We would need to first remove one vertex, because a prism has two identical bases, so we need 2 triangular faces to be straight up and then rectangular side faces need to be connected on the top making an edge. This way the vertex from the original would be removed. The reason for adding rectangular sides is that we need to connect each side of the square base with an identical side above it (parallel and congruent) using rectangular sides. This forms the rectangular faces that define the prism shape. This change in shape will impact the interior layout and usage by adding more space inside. A pyramid has less volume than a triangular prism! :)
I believe transforming The Memphis Pyramid into a triangular prism would allow for more interior space and a unique design. By changing the shape from a square pyramid to a triangular prism, the architect could potentially create a more functional and visually interesting structure. Rock and roll hall of fame is a triangular pyramid shaped museum, with a rectangular type of back side. this museum is most commonly known to celebrate the history and culture significances of rock music and honours the contributions of those who have played an important role in the music's creation and dissemination. established in 1983 by Ahmet Ertegun. In my opinion, the reason the architect chose this type of pyramid shape is because of how it stands out from your normal day to day buildings. I would design this building as a prism, yes.
