After a preliminary hearing, the judge will determine whether there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial. If the judge finds that there is sufficient evidence, the case will proceed to trial. If the judge determines that there is not enough evidence, the charges may be dismissed. Additionally, the defendant may choose to plead guilty before the trial, negotiate a plea deal with the prosecution, or go to trial and present their case.
