Infections ovary

An infection of the ovary, also known as ovarian infection or oophoritis, is a rare condition that occurs when harmful bacteria or viruses enter the ovaries and cause inflammation. This can result in symptoms such as pelvic pain, fever, l discharge, and abnormal bleeding.

Ovarian infections can be caused by various factors, such as sexually transmitted infections (STIs), pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), surgery, or a compromised immune system. Treatment typically involves antibiotics to clear the infection and may also include pain medication and rest.

If left untreated, an ovarian infection can lead to complications such as abscess formation, infertility, or the spread of infection to other organs. It is important to seek medical attention if you suspect you have an ovarian infection to receive proper diagnosis and treatment.
