Step 2: Literature Review
Socialisation is the process through which individuals learn the norms, values, and behaviors of their society. There are two main types of socialisation: primary socialisation, which occurs in early childhood within the family, and secondary socialisation, which occurs later in life through institutions such as school, peers, and media.
Primary socialisation is crucial as it lays the foundation for a child's social and emotional development. It helps individuals form their sense of self, develop social skills, and learn what is expected of them in society. Without proper primary socialisation, individuals may struggle to form healthy relationships, regulate their emotions, and navigate social situations effectively.
The impact of poor socialisation on teenagers can be significant. Teens who lack strong familial support and guidance may be more susceptible to engaging in risky behaviors such as substance abuse, delinquency, and violence. They may also struggle academically, have lower self-esteem, and experience difficulty forming meaningful relationships.
Step 3: Concepts Related to the Topic

Step 4: Research Design
I propose a qualitative research design for this study to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences and perspectives of teenagers who have experienced a lack of primary socialisation. The research population would consist of teenagers in our community who have faced challenges related to primary socialisation.
Sampling would involve selecting participants through purposive sampling, taking into consideration factors such as age, gender, socioeconomic status, and family structure. Data would be gathered through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions to explore the impact of poor socialisation on the teens' lives.
By conducting this study, we hope to shed light on the importance of primary socialisation for teenagers in our community and identify strategies to support those who may be lacking in this area. This research is essential for informing interventions and programs aimed at promoting positive social development among teenagers.
