Blood pressure is a measurement of the force of blood against the walls of the arteries. A blood pressure reading of 122/77 mmHg is considered normal for most adults. The second number, 77, represents the diastolic blood pressure (DBP) which is the pressure in the arteries when the heart is at rest between beats.
