You are required to identify and interact with tourists and colleagues from different cultures in your workplace. With that comes many elements that need to be known to communicate successfully.

Task 1

Do the following:

1. Research the main population groups within your community, workplace and province. Your research should include:

a. Verbal and Nonverbal communication aspects of each groups identified.

b. How according to the culture, you would show consideration for the groups identified?

c. What action you could take to resolve problems from cultural differences?

2. Reflect on your own cultural background and how it may influence your interactions with people from different cultures.

3. Identify potential challenges that may arise from cultural differences in your workplace and brainstorm potential solutions or strategies to address these challenges.

4. Practice interacting with tourists and colleagues from different cultures in your workplace, paying attention to the verbal and nonverbal cues they use, and how you can adapt your communication style to be more effective.

5. Write a reflection on your experiences, including what you have learned about intercultural communication and any strategies you have found to be successful in bridging cultural differences.
