Between last year in Spanish 1A and this year in Spanish 1B, we have been exposed to several different Spanish-speaking countries/territories across the world. This year alone, we have studied México (from Module 6), Puerto Rico (from Module 7), and Guatemala (from Module 8). As you have likely already noticed, though these countries/territories share a language, their cultures are VERY different. Answer the following questions as a way of reflecting on these 3 countries/territories:

What is at least 1 similarity that you have noticed between México, Puerto Rico, and Guatemala? (Besides the fact that they are all Spanish-speaking countries/territories!)
What are at least 2 unique (different) aspects that you have noticed for EACH México, Puerto Rico, and Guatemala?
If you had to choose between a trip to México, a trip to Puerto Rico, or a trip to Guatemala for your next holiday vacation, which country/territory would you choose to visit? Why?

One similarity I noticed between México, Puerto Rico, and Guatemala is that they all have delicious traditional foods that are popular in their culture.

Two unique aspects of México are the vibrant colors and decorations during celebrations like Día de los Muertos, and the ancient ruins of the Mayan and Aztec civilizations. Two unique aspects of Puerto Rico are the lively music and dance styles like salsa and reggaetón, and the beautiful beaches and tropical rainforests. Two unique aspects of Guatemala are the colorful traditional clothing worn by the indigenous people, and the famous Mayan ruins of Tikal.

If I had to choose between a trip to México, Puerto Rico, or Guatemala for my next holiday vacation, I would choose Puerto Rico. I love dancing and would enjoy experiencing the lively music and dance styles there. I also love the idea of relaxing on the beautiful beaches and exploring the tropical rainforests. It sounds like a fun and adventurous vacation spot!

One thing that México, Puerto Rico, and Guatemala all have in common is that they love to celebrate with tasty foods.

México has cool colors and decorations during Día de los Muertos and ancient Aztec and Mayan ruins. Puerto Rico is known for its fun music and dance styles like salsa, as well as its beautiful beaches and rainforests. Guatemala is famous for its colorful traditional clothing and the Mayan ruins of Tikal.

If I had to pick between México, Puerto Rico, or Guatemala for my next holiday, I would choose Puerto Rico. I really like dancing and would love to try out the salsa dances. Plus, relaxing on the pretty beaches and exploring the rainforests sounds super fun!
