Volume of cube with side length of 2.4 in? (units)

Volume of triangular prism is 20 cm^3. The base triangle has an area of 5cm^2. What is the height of the prism?

Fridge is 2 x 3 x 6 ft and is a rectangular prism. Will it fit in a space that is 35 cubic feet?

Find the volume of rectangular pyramid that has a base of 3 x 4in and a altitude of 6 in.

Rectangular prism and pyramid have congruent bases and heights. IF the volume of the prism is 420 in^3, what is the volume of the pyramid?

1. Volume of cube with side length of 2.4 in:

Volume of a cube = side length ^3
Volume = 2.4^3 = 13.824 in^3

2. Volume of triangular prism with base area and volume given:
Volume of a prism = Base Area x Height
Height = Volume / Base Area
Height = 20 cm^3 / 5 cm^2 = 4 cm

3. Comparing the volume of the fridge (2 x 3 x 6 = 36 ft^3) with the given space of 35 ft^3, the fridge will not fit in the space as it is too large.

4. Volume of rectangular pyramid with given base and altitude:
Volume of a pyramid = (1/3) x Base Area x Height
Volume = (1/3) x (3 x 4) x 6 = 24 in^3

5. Volume of pyramid with congruent prism:
Volume of prism = Base Area x Height
Volume of pyramid = (1/3) x Base Area x Height
Therefore, Volume of pyramid = (1/3) x Volume of prism
Volume = (1/3) x 420 in^3 = 140 in^3
