In your opinion, how could things have been done differently?

The most legally binding peace agreement that put an end to the hostility between Allied powers and Germany was the Treaty of Versailles. The treaty was signed on June 28th, 1919. Five years elapsed since the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which started the war. The League of Nations secretariat registered the pact on October 21, 1919, even though the real fighting concluded on November 11, 1918. Germany was made to shoulder responsibility for World War I under the “war guilt” of the treaty. A significant contributing reason to the outbreak of World War II was the pact.

In my opinion, things could have been done differently by taking into consideration the long-term consequences of the Treaty of Versailles. Instead of placing full blame and harsh penalties on Germany, a more balanced and sustainable approach could have been taken. This could have included more lenient terms, provisions for economic recovery, and support for rebuilding the country. Additionally, involving Germany in the negotiation process and addressing the root causes of the war could have helped prevent future conflicts. Ultimately, a more cooperative and inclusive approach to peace negotiations could have potentially prevented the rise of resentment and extreme nationalism that led to World War II.
