My initial impression of the narrator Josh was that he was a confident and talented basketball player who was struggling with family dynamics and friendships. However, as I read through the verse novel, I started to see a deeper, more vulnerable side to him. In the poem "A Gift," Josh reveals his insecurities and fears about not living up to his father's expectations. This vulnerability made me empathize with him more.

Additionally, in the poem "Hope," Josh expresses his love for the game of basketball and his passion for playing. This passion and dedication to his sport showed me a more determined and hardworking side to Josh.
Finally, in the poem "Birthday," Josh shows his loyalty and love for his best friend, JB, despite the challenges they face. This loyalty and commitment to his friend made me admire him even more.
Overall, my feelings about the narrator Josh have developed from seeing him as just a talented athlete to a complex and relatable character who struggles with his identity, relationships, and aspirations.
