(4 points)

One example of a technological change was the invention of the steam engine. This was important because it allowed for the mechanization of industry, leading to increased productivity and efficiency in manufacturing processes. The steam engine also facilitated the development of transportation systems, such as railroads, which revolutionized long-distance travel and trade.

Another impact of the Industrial Revolution was on the economic structure of society. Industrialization led to the rise of factory systems and mass production, which in turn created new employment opportunities for a growing urban population. This changed the way people worked, as many left agrarian lifestyles to work in factories or mines. The increased production and efficiency also contributed to the growth of consumer markets and the expansion of global trade networks.
