Read the following poem and background information. "The Armenian Language is the Home of the Armenian" by Moushegh Ishkhan

Background Information:
Because of the religious prejudice, Armenains were frequently harassed and the victims of oppression by the Turkish government. In the early 1900s, many Western countries began to officially object to the treatment of the Armenian people. The Turkish government was afraid that Western countries might send troops to fight them and help the Armenians. Their solution was to forcibly evict the entire Armenian population. Millions of Armenians were driven out of the country, and many were killed.
16. Which of the following phrases from the poem best support the mood?(5 points) Which supports the mood and which does not?
-"home and haven"
-"the hyena and the storm"
-"the wilderness of his future"
-"cupboards full, lamps lit, ovens hot"
-"it lasts / century to century"

The phrases "home and haven," "cupboards full, lamps lit, ovens hot," and "it lasts / century to century" best support the mood of the poem, which is one of comfort, stability, and endurance. These phrases evoke a sense of security, warmth, and longevity. On the other hand, the phrase "the hyena and the storm" does not support the mood as it conveys a sense of danger and chaos, which is not consistent with the overall tone of the poem. Similarly, "the wilderness of his future" does not support the mood as it suggests uncertainty and fear about what lies ahead, contrasting with the themes of home and endurance present in the rest of the poem.
