My reflection on the evolution unit is that I best understood the concept of natural selection and how it drives evolution. The topic that was most challenging for me to understand was the evolutionary relationships between organisms by studying patterns in embryo development. One strategy I could use to explain how scientists use patterns in the fossil record and in embryo development as evidence for evolution is by creating a visual diagram that connects the evidence to the concept of evolution. One topic in this unit I would like to learn more about is the evolution of whales because it is a fascinating example of how organisms have adapted over time.
