Ok, so let's ck this out...

I have a 2 inch water line at my house....that is the diameter....the circumference is 6.28 inches...
What is the ratio of the circumference to the diameter?
6.28 in. ÷ 2 in. = ?

While I am typing this, I have a Pepsi zero in the can....well a 12 oz can is a circle also....what is the ratio of the circumference and the diameter of a soda can....if the circumference is 8.2 in. and the diameter is 2.6 in. ....??

Do you recognize the answer that you came up with?
Hmmm, here is a hint, it is a National day today for this number!

The ratio of the circumference to the diameter is π (pi), which is approximately 3.14.

So, for the 2 inch water line:
6.28 in. ÷ 2 in. = 3.14

For the soda can:
8.2 in. ÷ 2.6 in. = 3.15 (approximating to 3.14)

Therefore, the answer is pi, which is 3.14, and today is Pi Day! (3/14)
