Jared, Josias, Bryan, and Michael were playing video games at Jared and Josias’ house. After a while, they began to get bored and were discussing over what they should do next. It was 7 pm at the time. Parents were talking in the living room while the four friends played in Jared’s room. They decided to sneak out to the backyard to play, since they knew the parent’s wouldn’t approve of them going outdoors at night. They then agreed over the game hide and seek and went out to hide in the dense forest while Jared got stuck as the seeker. After counting to 100, he went out to go look for them. After about 20 minutes passed, he decided to give up for it was getting real dark out. He yelled out, “Okay guys, you win!” There was no response so he yelled again, “You can come out now!” Still, nobody answered. Jared assumed they were simply playing around, trying to scare him. “I’m going inside and unless you want to sleep outside, I’d suggest you join me!”, he called out. He turned to go back inside, but could not find his home. Realization hit, and he knew he was lost.

Jared, Josias, Bryan, and Michael were engrossed in a marathon video game session at Jared and Josias’ house. As the evening wore on, they began to tire of the screen and started discussing their next adventure. With the clock ticking past 7 pm, they knew they had to act fast. Their parents were chatting in the living room, unaware of the mischief brewing in Jared’s room.

Deeming it too risky to venture outside at night, the thrill-seeking quartet decided to sneak out to the backyard for a game of hide and seek in the moonlit darkness. Jared took on the role of seeker and dutifully counted to 100 before setting off to find his elusive friends. The shadows of the dense forest beckoned to them, promising excitement and secrecy.

As Jared searched in earnest, calling out to his companions, an eerie silence descended over the backyard. The minutes stretched on, and an uneasy feeling settled in the pit of his stomach. Eventually, Jared conceded defeat, realizing that the night was getting darker by the minute. "Alright, you win," he announced, hoping to hear a response from his friends.

But a haunting silence greeted his words, sending a shiver down Jared's spine. A sense of foreboding crept over him as he called out once more, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "Come out now," he implored, his heart pounding in his chest. Still, there was no reply, no rustle in the bushes, no laughter echoing through the night.

Fearing the worst, Jared decided to retreat back inside, only to discover that his familiar surroundings had vanished. Panic gripped him as he realized he was lost in the dark wilderness, with no sign of his friends or his way home. The night loomed ominously around him, as he struggled to find his way back to safety.
