define Blooms taxonomy

Bloom's Taxonomy is a hierarchical framework used to categorize educational goals and objectives into levels of complexity. It was created by Benjamin Bloom in the 1950s and has been revised multiple times since then. The taxonomy consists of six levels, ranging from simple recall and comprehension tasks at the lower levels to more complex critical thinking and problem-solving skills at the higher levels. The levels are: Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis, and Evaluation. Blooms Taxonomy is widely used in educational settings to guide lesson planning, curriculum development, and assessment strategies.
