Direct current (DC) is the flow of electrical charge in one direction only. It is the type of electricity produced by batteries and solar cells.
An example of how you use DC power is when you charge your smartphone with a USB charger. The charger converts the alternating current (AC) from the outlet into DC power to charge the battery of the phone.
