How does skeletal work with one other body system?

The skeletal system works closely with the muscular system to allow for movement. The muscles of the body attach to the bones and when they contract, they pull on the bones, facilitating movement. The skeletal system also protects vital organs in the body such as the brain, heart, and lungs. Additionally, the skeletal system works with the circulatory system to produce red blood cells in bone marrow and store minerals such as calcium and phosphorus.
