2. Discuss the following topic:

'What it takes to work as a team member"

3. Brainstorm behaviours and characteristics of individuals who are excellent team members and who contribute to high functioning team success. Record a summary on A1 news print/Flip chart paper

4. Now map out how a team members and other stakeholders interface (have contact) with each other. Think about the following role-players and stakeholders.

Customer/clients,

Sponsor/s,

Project manager,

Other project management team members.

Project team

Other internal or external stakeholders.

An example would be: Joseph the project manager meets with all other project team members weekly on a Monday to finalise the workplan and progress for the week.

5. Now identify possible examples of disruptive behaviours displayed by specific team members and note these examples on your mind map. (Record at least 3 examples).

6 For each of the disruptive behaviour examples listed:

Write down what the possible consequences for the team/project/organisation may be, and

come up with a way to correct / address it.

7. Appoint a presenter and present your team's mind-map to the rest of the class.

8. Discuss as a group what actions can be taken to promote effective team communication and collaboration in order to prevent disruptive behaviors and ensure team success. Record key points on a separate flip chart paper.

9. Share any personal experiences of working in teams and how effective communication and collaboration have contributed to the success of the team.

10. Reflect on the activity as a group and discuss any key takeaways or insights gained from working together to create the mind map.

11. Set goals as a team for improving teamwork and collaboration in future projects. Discuss strategies that can be implemented to achieve these goals.

12. Close the activity with a team cheer or group high-five to celebrate working together effectively.
