1.Is the narrator first-person, second-person, or third-person? How can you tell?
second-person

2. Is the narrator omniscient or limited? How can you tell?

3. Is the narrator objective or not? Reliable or unreliable? How can you tell?

4. What is foreshadowing? How do authors foreshadow upcoming events in the story?

5. What change to Jordan (JB) and Josh’s relationship does Kwame Alexander foreshadow throughout the “Second Quarter” section? Give at least two examples and what you can predict from these examples.

6. Visualize the main characters from The Crossover. How would you describe them? Use evidence from the novel to support your ideas.

Jordan (JB) and Josh are described as twins who are very close to each other. They both have a passion for basketball and are very competitive. Jordan is more serious and focused on the game, while Josh is more laid back and carefree. They have a strong bond that is tested throughout the novel, but ultimately they support each other and work through their differences. This is evident in the way they communicate and interact with each other in the story.
