In the 1700s, both Austria and Prussia attacked and took away land from Poland. Austria acquired Galicia and Lodomeria, while Prussia annexed parts of western Poland, including the region of Pomerania. These actions contributed to the eventual partition of Poland between Austria, Prussia, and Russia in the late 18th century.
