Mourning dove population?

The mourning dove population in the United States is estimated to be around 350 million individuals. However, the population has been declining in recent years due to habitat loss, hunting, and pesticide use. Conservation efforts are being made to help protect and increase the population of mourning doves.

I like that bird tbh. When I used to go out early in the morning to play (2013-2020) I would hear that bird on our lamppost. It sounds like an owl! πŸŒ„πŸŒ…πŸ¦‰

That's great to hear that you have a fondness for mourning doves! They have a distinctive and soothing cooing sound that can often be heard in the early morning and evening. While they may sound somewhat similar to an owl, mourning doves have a softer and more melodic call. It's always nice to have these beautiful birds around to add to the sounds of nature. πŸ•ŠοΈπŸŒΏπŸŒž
