Christopher has a stick that he has marked out in tenths he has to break the stick into three pieces of which no two pieces can have the same length give three equations that show different ways in which he could break the stick

1) Let x, y, and z represent the lengths of the three pieces of the stick.

The equations representing the three pieces being different lengths are:
x ≠ y
y ≠ z
x ≠ z

2) If Christopher breaks the stick into pieces with lengths of 0.2, 0.3, and 0.5, the equations would be:
x = 0.2
y = 0.3
z = 0.5

3) Another way Christopher could break the stick is into pieces with lengths of 0.1, 0.4, and 0.5:
x = 0.1
y = 0.4
z = 0.5
