Galileo Galilei lived from 1564 to 1642, Robert Hooke lived from 1635 to 1703, and Isaac Newton lived from 1642 to 1727. So, while Galileo and Hooke did not live at the same time, Hooke and Newton overlapped for a period of about 23 years.
