In my opinion, Impressionism is a soothing and dreamy musical style that stands out with its use of soft dynamics, flowing rhythms, and muddy harmonies reminiscent of impressionist paintings. On the other hand, 12-tone music is a fascinating and intellectually intriguing style that grabs attention with its atonal and dissonant melodies, lack of a tonal center, and a strict adherence to the twelve-tone technique invented by Schoenberg. Lastly, jazz is a vibrant and energetic style that captivates with its syncopated rhythms, improvisation, and a blend of scales like the blues scale and chromatic scale, creating a lively and expressive music. I personally enjoy jazz the most due to its infectious energy and the freedom it gives to the musicians to express themselves through improvisation.
