Pre-Debut:
On December 1, 2022, PERSONA Entertainment announced that they're going to debut a new girl group early on 2023. The group would be going by the name EMOTiCON and would be presenting a new side on girl group concepts from the agency. The news came as a shock on how quickly the agency is debuting another group since SECRET V debuted 1 year and a half prior to this announcement.
The company released a statement that EMOTiCON's members had been training together for more than 2 years together and have been advanced to the point of being ready to debut. One of the members of the group Youchae was stated on the article to have been chosen the leader of the team since the early stage of practices as a team, she helped the girls a lot and showed great potential that made the team's debut come sooner than ever. The group would have emoticon symbols to identify them throughout their up-and-coming career and they would bring bubbly-pop and funky-pop concepts.
