I have a question so earlier today I was able to activate my new Spectrum Modem and my new Spectrum Router. I was able to connect all of my devices to my new WI-FI except for a HP Laptop which is currently running on Windows 8. My question is does the new router not support Windows 8 devices?

The new router should support Windows 8 devices, as long as they have Wi-Fi capabilities. There might be a specific issue with the configuration on your HP laptop that is preventing it from connecting to the new Wi-Fi network.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Restart your HP laptop and the new Spectrum modem and router. Sometimes, a simple reboot can fix connectivity problems.

2. Make sure that the Wi-Fi adapter on your HP laptop is turned on. Usually, there is a physical switch or a keyboard shortcut (Fn key + Wi-Fi symbol) to enable/disable the Wi-Fi.

3. Check if there are any wireless network drivers available for your laptop on the HP website. Download and install the latest drivers for your Wi-Fi adapter.

4. Reset the Wi-Fi settings on your HP laptop. Go to the Control Panel, open the Network and Sharing Center, and click on "Change adapter settings". Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter and select "Disable". Wait for a few seconds and then right-click again and choose "Enable".

5. Try forgetting the Wi-Fi network on your HP laptop and then reconnecting to it. Open the Network and Sharing Center, click on "Manage wireless networks" and find your new Spectrum Wi-Fi network in the list. Right-click on it and select "Forget this network". Then, search for available Wi-Fi networks again, select yours, and enter the Wi-Fi password.

6. If none of the above steps work, it's possible that there is a compatibility issue between your HP laptop and the new router. In this case, contacting Spectrum support or HP support may be helpful to troubleshoot the specific issue further.
