To demonstrate the law of conservation of momentum, we can set up an experiment in which two billiard balls of equal mass are placed on a frictionless table. We first measure and record the initial momentum of each ball by multiplying its mass by its initial velocity. Then, we push one of the balls towards the other and observe the collision. After the collision, we measure and record the final velocities of both balls. By comparing the initial and final momenta of the system, we can determine if momentum is conserved.
