An autocracy is a form of government in which supreme power is concentrated in the hands of a single individual or a very small group, typically with little to no accountability or checks on their authority. The ruler in an autocracy maintains absolute control over political, economic, and social aspects of the state, often without regard for the will or consent of the governed.
