how can i help my daugther learn to read?
Read to her and with her. Show that you enjoy reading and help her to enjoy it. Praise accurate reading responses.
However, if there is a specific problem, you might seek professional help. Start at the school.
I hope this helps. Thanks for asking.
First, read to her - a lot! At least 30min/day - maybe afternoon when she gets home from school and in the evening before she goes to bed. Make it a fun time, where you snuggle together. You can point out letters of simple words and help her to decode them by sounding them out with her. You can also let her read simple words in the story that repeat a lot - and, of, it, she, the, or the name of the main character. Make it fun, and reward her efforts with a hug to encourage her to continue. There are a lot of programs out there for reading, but adding simple books that are mostly phonetic, to your list of items to read to her will help just as well. Read a variety of books, and let her choose some for herself.
By the way, do you read? Children will imitate their parents. When I have tutored children who are having trouble with their reading, it has always been true that when I went to their home there were no reading materials lying about and the parents were not readers. If you enjoy reading and read a variety of materials, your child will be more likely to read well (and enjoy reading!) themselves.
you could help her first on vocabulary and spelling.
then you could start getting into stories and you can go to these websites.
