What does the Supremacy Clause state?

The Supremacy Clause, found in Article VI, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, states that the Constitution, along with the laws and treaties made pursuant to it, is the supreme law of the land. This means that federal laws and the Constitution take precedence over any conflicting state laws. In the event of a conflict between federal and state laws, the Supremacy Clause ensures that the federal law will prevail, and the state law will be deemed unconstitutional.
