One positive consequence of Westward Expansion was the opening up of new opportunities for settlers, such as free or cheap land, the chance to start afresh in a new region, and the possibility of economic prosperity through mining or farming. This expansion also led to the development of new infrastructure, including railroads and telegraph lines, which connected the East Coast to the West and facilitated economic growth. However, there were also negative consequences, such as the displacement and mistreatment of Native American tribes, who lost their lands and suffered cultural genocide. Additionally, conflicts and tensions arose between settlers and Native Americans, resulting in violent clashes and loss of life.
