His Father sat up in his chair then spoke, "Your punishment, due to your actions, I do believe should be a big one. So, your punishment is going to be that I cannot have you do jobs or volunteering, not even community services. I cannot ground you either, so your punishment will hurt, but the pain will make you listen." He stopped talking and then called for one of the servants, "Richard bring me the rod from my room"

Now twelve year old a was very unhappy he knew he should never have touch his father's rifle. Oh how bad he had been plus he did not even know the rifle.was loaded and he accidentally shot his younger brother, lucky for him the doctor said the boy would be fine.

Richard then returned father quickly took the did from the servant, and gestured for him to leave the room. A looked at his mother sitting in her chair calmly walking the baby in the cradle with her foot.I

Now put your hand out" his father demanded A slowly put his hand down but then his father though the for down on the coffee table.

A flinched at the sudden motion, his heart racing with fear. He knew what was coming next, and he dreaded it. His father had never used the rod on him before, but he had heard stories from the other servants about its painful sting. Closing his eyes, he braced himself for the punishment.

Without any warning, the rod came down hard on his outstretched hand. A sharp pain shot through his fingers, causing him to cry out in agony. Tears welled up in his eyes, but he fought to keep them from falling. He didn't want to give his father the satisfaction of seeing him cry.

His mother, though still calmly rocking the baby, couldn't hide the sadness in her eyes. She had tried to intervene, to plead with her husband for a less severe punishment, but her words fell on deaf ears. She was as powerless as A was in this situation.

As the rod struck his hand again and again, A's mind wandered to his younger brother. He was relieved that the boy would be alright, but guilt weighed heavily on his heart. What if the accident had been worse? What if he had cost his brother his life? The realization of his actions - the danger he had put his family in - made the pain of the punishment unbearable.

His father's voice cut through the haze of pain. "Remember this pain, A," he said sternly. "Remember the consequences of your reckless actions. You have brought shame upon this family, and it is up to you to make amends."

A nodded, his hand throbbing in pain as he whispered, "I'm sorry, Father. I promise I'll never do something so foolish again."

His father finally set the rod down, the punishment over for now. A's hand trembled as he withdrew it, trying to ease the ache. He knew it would take time for the pain to fade, but his father's words echoed in his mind. This punishment was meant to teach him a lesson, to make him listen and understand the consequences of his actions.

As he glanced at his mother, still holding the baby in her arms, A made a silent vow to himself. He would do whatever it took to make things right, to show his family that he could be better. And maybe, just maybe, one day his father's trust would be restored.
