Additionally, authoritarian governments may suppress or ban independent political parties and organizations, limiting citizens’ ability to organize and advocate for their interests. On the other hand, democratic systems emphasize and protect citizens’ political participation by ensuring freedom of speech, media, and assembly. Citizens in democratic regimes have the freedom to express their opinions, form political parties and organizations, and engage in peaceful protests to influence government decisions.
